About us

We’re a partner to the brave and curious ones, for the companies and leaders who are prepared to challenge and change conventional norms around how we think, work and live.

Grounded in neuroscience, we believe healthy brains are the cornerstone of organisational success. Our science-backed methodologies go beyond traditional approaches and programs by addressing the cognitive underpinnings of performance.

By fostering a balanced, healthy, and cognitively optimised workforce, we not only enhance individual potential, but also drive sustainable growth and innovation within organisations.

HumAIn Focus

In a world of work where digital and human assets will become increasingly intertwined, we help companies understand how to assess and optimise brain health and capital.

Inspiration

We strive to inspire, at individual, corporate and societal levels, towards a world of work where habits and norms, fit for the digital + brain economy can flourish.

Business Impact

We use neuroscience-based methods and tools directly linking factors that contribute towards improved brain health and capital, for more sustainable impact and positive returns.

It’s not all in the brain

Our innovative approach is grounded in three core underlying features that redefine how organisations understand and enhance cognitive performance and employee health.

Allostatic Load I Cognitive Load I Autonomic Balance

We call it ‘‘the new engagement’’. All of the factors, habits, behaviours in the flow²thrive Brain Health Model can have a positive (or negative) impact on one, or the three core underlying features, which in turn will impact Key Wellbeing Indicators (KWIs) and Cognitive Performance Indicators (CPIs).

Thus, it’s all linked. It’s all focuses on helping our brains to thrive.

1. Allostatic Load = Brain Risk

Allostatic load is the cumulative physiological wear and tear resulting from chronic stress. By incorporating allostatic load as a key metric, we proactively identify risks to brain health and cognitive performance directly linked to the work environment.

Our methodology includes 44 Multipliers (factors, habits and behaviours) directly linked to brain health risk and cognitive performance optimisation, that can offer a comprehensive view of the risk and potential of your workforce.

This allows for targeted interventions that not only promote individual wellbeing, but also enhance organisational productivity and resilience.

2. Autonomic Balance = Brain Potential

Understanding the balance between the sympathetic ('fight or flight') and parasympathetic ('rest and digest') nervous systems is crucial for maintaining optimal brain health. Our method and index only include factors, habits and behaviours that can impact autonomic function, as indicators of cognitive risk and potential.

Disruptions in autonomic balance contribute to increased allostatic load (= increased brain health risk) and negatively impacts e.g. emotional regulation, decision-making, and overall mental health.

By monitoring this balance, we help organisations foster environments that support better healthier work and life habits, stress resilience, improved cognitive flexibility, and enhanced employee performance.

3. Cognitive Load = Brain Risk / Potential

Leveraging Cognitive Load Theory (CLT), we assess and optimise task design to prevent cognitive overload. Chronic cognitive strain can lead to decreased efficiency, increased risk, and cognitive fatigue. The opposite can also be true, where under stimulation can lead to boredom and apathy, and increase health risk and reduce productivity and performance potential.

Our method identifies and mitigates insufficient cognitive stimulation, and unnecessary cognitive burdens by assessing those factors that have the most direct impact on individual capacities. This ensures that employees remain mentally agile, engaged, and productive.
